Sabinsa has successfully completed the audit for several of its natural cosmetic ingredients as conforming to COSMOS standards, verified by Ecocert Greenlife: Cococin (Cocos nucifera liquid Endosperm), Saberry® (Emblica officinalis fruit extract) and Nigellin® Amber (Black seed extract).

COSMOS standards were developed by BDIH (Germany), COSMEBIO and ECOCERT (France), ICEA (Italy), and Soil Solution (UK) to define standards for organic and / or natural cosmetics and ingredients used in cosmetics adhering to highest feasible sustainable practices. All the products marketed with the Ecocert logo have been verified by Ecocert teams from composition to processing and packaging.

This provides consumers with transparent information on the content. All the ingredients are having this certification must be from natural origin, excepting a restrictive approved ingredients list (including preservatives) authorized in small quantity.

The COSMOS certification guarantees:

  • Environmentally friendly production and processing processes respecting also human health
  • Development of the concept of green chemicals
  • Responsible use of natural resources
  • Respect of biodiversity
  • Absence of petrochemical ingredient (except for authorized preservatives): parabens, phenoxyethanol, perfumes and synthetic colorants
  • Absence of GMOs
  • Recyclable packaging
